Founded by Joseph Theodorus Wulianadi, with assistance from his friend Gerhard Seeger, Joger derives its name from a combination of their names—Joseph + GERhard. The two have been friends since their school days in 1970 at Hotelfachschule Bad Wiessee in West Germany. With a wedding gift of US$20,000 from Gerhard in 1981, Joseph was able to kickstart his business venture, turning Joger into a beloved shopping destination.

Upon entering Joger, visitors are warmly greeted and given a sticker as an entry pass. The store features dedicated sections showcasing T-shirt collections, souvenirs like mugs, sandals, keychains, and countdown clocks—a unique Joger offering. In addition to its main outlet on Kuta's main road, Joger has expanded with a branch near Bedugul Botanical Garden on Jalan Mekarsari No.16, Luwus Baturiti Bedugul.
